WHY IT IS WORTH PAYING 14€ JUST TO GET IN

My secret hot spot of this week requires some admission fee first.
But once you’ve entered, you know that it’s been worth the 14 bucks.

It’s such an impressive set of historical architecture there – fantastic!
I was speechless for a while and busy turning my head, taking in all those nooks, corners, flights of stairs, different tones of marble, wall paintings, ceiling frescoes, stucco,… and I am only talking about the entrance hall here – of the Kunsthistorische Museum (Museum of Art History)! No surprise it took them around twenty years to design and built – or rather craft –  it. You feel a little majestic and can’t help but climb the stairs with a certain elegance to the various exhibition halls (collections and temporary exhibitions). They knew how to stage back then, in the late nineteenth century.

This is all about drama, baby!

So, after some indulgence in ancient Egyptian-oriental collections and famous Dutch and Italian paintings for example, it’s definitely time for a treat…

Then there is the café, a very special milano-vibe Kaffeehaus on the first level, under a tremendous cupola, all tiles and graphics. A red velvet banquet seating in the shape of a donut forms the very center of the vast space, the donut hole forming the void to the entrance level below…again, very majestic and exquisite! Enjoying a coffee Melange at the KHM becomes a whole new experience there. Check it out and drop me line in the comments below!

Indulge in the pleasure of discovering the world around you: Pay attention to the details that make the difference!

Enjoy!

TRAVEL IS AN INTRINSIC PART OF MY LIFE!

SUSANNE STAEUDEL has always loved traveling the world, ever since she was a child. She has lived in many places like Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria…. So she’s got that international mindset, enabling a wide vision on the world.

She has just moved to Vienna where her heart is, after working in Germany and spending all her free time in Vienna for the past 1.5 years.

She runs the design-inspired lifestyle travel blog SuessiLoves dedicated to Europe and the World, with a special love for Vienna.

Thanks to her background in design and fine arts, she’s got that special eye to inspire design-oriented people to travel, live and pursue a life in bliss and happiness. She loves to reveal places of interest like cafes, restaurants, hotels, museums, sights that you won’t find in your regular guide book but based on her own guts. Besides this, she‘s got a passion for coffee and delicious home made vegetarian food.

Her aim is to live a life full of pleasure and indulgence in a healthy, mindful way – abroad or at home. Because happiness is contagious…

WHERE SHOULD YOU GO NEXT?

Hamburg, Milan, Erfurt, Nuremberg, or…
