THE BEST P-STOP YOU CAN HAVE ALONG THE MOTORWAY A8
DINZLER . IRSCHENBERG . BAVARIA
ARE YOU SOON TRAVELING BY CAR FROM MUNICH TO SALZBURG
OR INNSBRUCK OR COMING FROM SOUTH TYROL GOING NORTH
PASSING THE ‘AUTOBAHNDREIECK INNTAL‘ ON THE A8?
“It’s the going, not the getting there, that matters.“ Tom Wolfe
Are you soon traveling by car from Munich to Salzburg or Innsbruck or coming from South Tyrol going North passing the ‘Autobahndreieck Inntal‘ on the A8?
Bavaria with it’s beautiful green hills and cute houses and the Alps are just flying past while going 140km/h on the motorway. What a shame.
Time for a break? Hungry? Thirsty & tired?
Maybe it’s time for a break – you are hungry, thirsty, a bit tired of driving all the time. You feel you so need a really nice coffee. mmmmh, and a cake would be nice. And then you also could go to the toilets (sorry for being that precise but it’s human)….
Your partner traveling with you is more in for a white beer and a savory sandwich, a bretzl even with the famous white sausages. You don’t like the rip-off restaurants along the motorway where you have to pay to use the toilets and then need to buy something way too expensive to get the ‚refund‘ and you’ve been to a fastfood restaurant already 3hours before. The breakout areas where you don’t have to pay are just too groce and often dirty…
“Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of traveling.” Margaret Lee Runbeck
Wouldn’t it be great to sit somewhere nice, with a panoramic view of the Alps even, have a fresh home made cake, a really delicious coffee from professional baristas while your companion is enjoying a burger and a bavarian beer? A pitstop-heaven?
What if you’d enjoyed that break so much you wanted to take home some sort of souvenir to remember that oh!so special travel stop?
How awesome would it be if you didn’t remember the tedious carride once you arrive at your destination but that really recharging break you had at Irschenberg?
Then I have this gem for you:
DINZLER am Irschenberg, motorway A8-exit „Irschenberg“, direction „Miesbach“
Once you’re there you’ll think how this place can be so busy as it is very likely to miss the exit (pay close attention following the DINZLER sign because traffic there is a bit confusing). But don’t worry – the place is huge and you’ll find your perfect spot to relax and recharge – either downstairs, upstairs or outside on the terrace. The Richter family who owns and runs Kaffeerösterei DINZLER got it all right: excellent coffee, delicous cakes, good quality food, qualified staff, a very personal charming style with a creative touch – you can choose to sit on massive lounging furniture that used to be a pommel horse (gymnastics sports equipment) and fair prices. The espresso at the counter downstairs e.g. costs 1€ like in Italy and the shop always has a fine blend of the week that is on discount. And the coffee museum (!) is for free (as are the restrooms, gee!). So you even can get yourself educated about the whole coffee thing and see your very beans being roasted and packed.
How does that sound?
